Amish news update - 9-16-08
Here's a weird article I came across today, about a group of Amish in Bergholz, OH who are suing the County Sheriff's office for $35 million... Scanned documents are shown...Can't tell if this is for real or not...anyways here's the link: http://www.tmz.com/2008/09/16/the-amish-civil-rights-movement/
Graves County Amish Go To Trial November 14: MAYFIELD, KY – Members of the Amish community were back in Graves District Court Thursday morning. Fines handed down earlier this year when the men were found guilty of not having lights and slow-moving vehicle symbols on their horse-drawn buggies were due Thursday.

Yet another story in a newpaper that prints the person's address! What are these people thinking when they do that? (In the buggy accident article)
Re: Amish news update - 9-16-08
Tom, I was going to post about this tonight....I'm having trouble sourcing this story....This would just prove my past point about the Bergholz, Ohio Amish group being very, very quirky and outside of the mainstream Amish church....The odd thing about this story is the only place I'm finding out any info on it is TMZ.com, hardly the typical spot for "Amish news", but it is interesting.....
Re: Amish news update - 9-16-08
I think the Bergholz story is true from what I am finding on google. There are several other stories that appear to be linked to it. It apparently stems from a rare custody case that went haywire.
