A healthy snack gone bad... delicously bad :-)

LuvMaerz's picture

I decided to go buy myself a hot air popcorn popper today to assist in my healthy snacking.  My microwave consistently burns the 100 calorie mini-bags (and I have tried everything to salvage them!), and I figured spending $15 on the popper and $1.30 for a 2 lb bag of kernels was more economical than $4 per box for the other stuff.

The girls found it fascinating to see the popcorn jump out of the machine into the old red anodized-aluminum bowl that was my grandma's and my "popcorn bowl".  I decided to pop up enough to make the carmel corn out of "The Amish Cook at Home" as a treat for Daddy when he gets home from work.  I made a half-batch, and that is still a TON!!  It was really easy, and it is super delicous!!  I am really surprised how non-messy it was, using my non-stick pot and roaster.  Wonder how long it will last once he gets home ;-)

If I weren't so blimped out from all this baking, I'd say that sounds awesome...SIGH, I had to eat half a brown sugar pie the other day before I decided that it didn't make the cut for our book...ugh..

Hopefully not all at once?  You could do like other taste testers and taste and then spit it out; no swallowing...Kind of gross though!!
