New Diet & Exercise Support email group

dcharrison's picture

I have decided to start an email group that we can all use for support in either weight loss, stabalization, excercise, etc.  It is open to us here on the group or even family & friends outside this web site.  To join, you can either go to the website or send an email.  I don't see it so much as a true discussion group, but rather a place to send a quick email giving a list of foods eaten that day, exercise done, how you feel about it, if you have lost or gained weight, are needing additional messages of support or want to send messages of support.

You will have the option of getting individual emails as they are sent, a daily digest that would include approximately 25 emails per each (or 1 email per day, if less than 25 have been sent) or even web messages only where you would need to go to the web site to read the postings for that day.

I personally prefer to get all the emails and to manage it, I have a special email address that I then sort into it's own folder on my computer.  That allows me to read them at times that I might not have an active internet connection, etc.

The web address is http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/diet_buddies/ or you can subscribe by email using .

I hope to see you all there!

Anyone is allowed!  As far as what you've gotten yourself into - example:

When my sil, daughter & his sister have done this for the past several months, we will each send 1 email per day with a list of what we have ate, what exercise we have done, if the scale has gone down, up, stayed the same or whatever.  Something that I might is would go alone the lines of -

Breakfast - bagel with cream cheese

Lunch - Smart Ones Lasagna

Snack - lowfat yogurt

1/2 mile walk around the block before heading down to the gym to answer phones for Eddie.

Dinner - grilled chicken breast w/large salad

Snack - grapes

scale was down by .5#

Mine won't be backuntil Sunday or Monday - tomorrow is a travel day, then as woon as I get off work Friday, I pick up the grandson for his special time and I usually allow for that every 2 weeks.
