Amish Boy Killed in Accident - on 3:52:02 PM EDT
An 11 year old Amish boy is dead following an accident around eight this morning in Dudley Township.
According to Chief Deputy Ken Hilty from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, Efram Bontrager was on a cart being pulled by a single horse, when a tractor pulling two grain wagons, and operated by Burke Ramge, approached from behind. The boy pulled the cart to the side of the road, while Ramge attempted to pull to the opposite side of the road to make a safe passage. During that time, the horse reared back and pulled the cart into the path of the tractor. The grain wagon struck the cart, which tossed the boy off and into the path of the wagon. He was killed at the scene. The crash, which occurred on County Road 190 east of County Road 209, remains under investigation.
