Homemade Gifts for Christmas

Roz Winter's picture

This year with a lot of inspiration from all the different recipes Ive been trying out from this site and the Amish Baking Book. Ive decided to give some people homemade treats this christmas as a gift. Im going to make christmas cookies, fudge, truffles, florentines,  and a few other things. Ive bought some nice christmas gift bags, jars and tins to put everything in. Cant wait to get baking/cooking. This will be the first year Ive done this, so heres hoping it all goes down well.

don't forget about all of us

Re: Homemade Gifts for Christmas

That sounds lovely, Roz, and is the true spirit of Christmas.  I love to make baked goods as Christmas presents, and last year all of my presents were ones I had either stitched by hand (samplers, small Christmas scenes) or knitted (mostly scarves).  This year, I'm needle-pointing a fraktur type sampler and knitting a scarf for a co-worker and will start my baking probably this weekend.  Hope you have fun making your all baked Amish treats!  ~ Janice

Roz, I think that is  a wonderful idea....I know I'd far prefer a plate of homemade fudge, truffles, or florentines than almost any store-bought gift, let us know how it goes!

Wonderful!! I bet those goodies will be much more appreciated than something from a store. Have fun!!
