Love your website and the Amish Cook column. I live an hour from Amish country (Shipshewanna). We try to visit there several times a year. I come from a close German family and they cook just like my Grandma did. My grandparents both came from homes where English was their 2nd language. They used to talk to each other in German so the Grandkids didn't know what they were saying to each other. Keep up the good work and glad to hear things are working out for you.

Re: Good Luck!
I married into the Winter name. It is a popular name, but not too common either. I would love to research back to see where the family came from and why they came to Ireland.
Re: Good Luck!
Just curious is your family name Winter or are you just using that as a nickname??
Re: Good Luck!
Winter is our last name. I don't know what area of Germany they come from. My family (Schmiedler) now Smidler is from the northern area.
