Rhubarb Dump Cake

I am waiting for the house to cool down, this crazy weather, cold one minute hot the next. My first attemped was so good taste wise ( just took a bite) that I gave it to my parents, they are in the late 80s. This next one is gong to be shared with the people that come for the Free Lunch Friday at the Goshen Airport. (Indiana) I think the third one will be for me Yum!!!

Friend Club

I was going through blogs from 2 years ago, and someone mentioned the Amish Cook Friend club.  It was also mentioned you could click on Boos and Subscriptions to see what you could hear and see thru emails.  Is the Friend Club still in existance, and if so, how do you join?

Note to Lovina

I went through all this (create an account, etc.) just to tell Lovina that I enjoy her column in the Kokomo paper.  I used to enjoy her mother's column in the Indianapolis Star and sadly missed it.  We all need to simplify our lives and it's such a pleasure to read about YOURS.  Keep up the good work with your lovely family.  Hugs to all.

A Shameless Plug

I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds by writing this, so, Kevin, feel free to delete this if you feel this is inappropriate content for the website.  I get the feeling that the users of the Amish Cook website are relatively conservative, politically-wise, which is why I am writing this.  For any readers who live in Indiana's state district 35 (Muncie, Anderson, and areas around there), there is an exciting Republican primary going on for the state district's house seat in Indianapolis.  My brother-in-law, Eric Welch, is running against the incumbent, Jack Lutz, I believe, who has held the seat for 17-18 years.

Even though my husband and I don't always agree politically with Eric, we are impressed by his very genuine commitment to want to make his district better.  He has a campaign website and a Facebook page.
