Amish Documentary on TV
The Documentary channel (DISH #197) had an interesting show on tonight called "The Old Order Amish of Jamesport". It will be repeated Thursday at 1:30 PM (Central time). I found the program very interesting. It highlighted the lives of an Amish settlement in Jamesport, Missouri (100+ families) - their daily lives, their social life, their work, schools, church services, funerals, weddings, etc. as well as some of the history of the Amish. It's only a 30 minute film but I found it enlightening.

Re: Amish Documentary on TV
Just a side note but last night the program Ghost Hunters had a episode about a Mennonite couple who were having strange things happening in their house and they talked about how the couple was being shunned by the community because of it. Wish I could remember where they said they lived...

Re: Amish Documentary on TV
Kevin,
I have my DVR set to record it. Very interesting to me, indeed, because Jamesport is very near where my grandpa lives (and I spoke a little before about the Amish in that area). I don't think I have actually been there, but there was always a huge flea market that my great-grandma, the crafter, would go to to sell her wares. I don't have a DVD recorder, but you are welcome to swing by and watch it ;-)
