My father in Ohio is without power. Rural no electricity means no heat, water or cooking. I just hope he has been keeping his Life Alert cell phone charged. He was adding a blanket and crawling in to keep warm (no electric blanket, of course)The estimated time for the power grids being back online was unavailable because it is so widespread.
I am wondering how other power companies are faring.

Re: SNOW AND RAIN
I hope he gets power back soon. I know how it is when the power goes out. We have well water, electric stove, etc. The only difference is that we can turn the gas fireplace on for heat!
Re: SNOW AND RAIN
i hope also that her father gets his power back on soon. we bought an electric fireplace, shut off the central heating, and the whole house is still staying nice and warm WITHOUT the DUKE ENERGY COMPANY....we were SO SICK of paying them all the money....we have energy saving light bulbs in all of our lamps, have plastic covering on some of our windows...so we are staying VERY comfortable in our home.
