Pinecraft Days; Amish Taxi Drivers Grumble

Most of you know by now how much I enjoy the Florida Amish community of Pinecraft.   The "busy season" for this unique Amish enclave is from November through March.  Pinecraft Days is a week-long street fair of sorts which serves as an unofficial end to the bustling winter.  Click here to read about Pinecraft Days.  If any of our site visitors are lucky enough to attend this week, please post a comment letting us know what you thought!

The issue of regulating so-called "Amish taxi drivers"  flares up from time to time, especially in Pennsylvania. I think the drivers generally SHOULD be regulated to keep them from gouging the Amish price-wise.  I've seen that happen way too much.  On the other hand, the state shouldn't regulate them so much that the fees piled on the drivers pretty much force them to gouge.  That appears to be what is happening in the Keystone State.
