Squash Flowers

My boys and I just went to the small Amish market down the street today.  They had the most beautiful squash flowers I've ever seen.  The owner was telling my sons how if you pick the flowers first thing in the morning you can stuff them, cook them and eat them.  My boys looked at him like he had two heads or something! Surprised They could not believe that you could actually eat a flower.

I don't know that I would actually eat them myself, but they looked really good!

Re: Squash Flowers

Deep fried squash blossoms is an old native American recipe. It is good. Susan

"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift... that's why they call it the present."

I have heard this, but never tried it.  As much as I love zucchini, I need to give it a try someday :-)

Re: Squash Flowers

My SIL loves them, she dips them in a batter and deep fry them.
