Here is the recipe:
Hoagie Rolls ( makes 6)
3 cups of bread flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1 pkg. of active dry yeast
1 c of warm water. (100*-110*)
1 tablespoon of oil
In a food processor put the flour and salt. Pulse to mix.
Dissolve the yeast in the warm water and add the oil.
Pour the water/yeast/oil while running the food
processor, mix until a dough forms. Take out and knead until smooth, put in a greased bowl. Cover and let set until doubled in size. Punch down, and scale 4 oz. globs. I got 6 rolls. (The last one was a tad short of 4 oz.)
Take each piece, roll like a snake, about 6 inches long. Then flatten into a bun shape. Let set until almost double, then bake at 350* for 20 minutes or until golden brown. I baked mine a little longer, about 10 min. Watch them. Just before they were done I brushed them with butter, then finished baking them.
I liked them, I always have the ingredients on hand. It beats
paying about $4.00 for a pack of rolls at the store. I made
steak sandwiches with them. Even my hubby liked them!!!
If you don't have a food processor, just make it with a bowl and spoon.
